Nigerian radio personality George Iniabasi Essien, often known as Mighty George, has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon hosting of a radio talk show in an incredible demonstration of perseverance, enthusiasm, and broadcasting prowess. He is still going strong today. Mighty George, broadcasting live from Comfort 95.1 FM in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, broke the previous record of 88 hours, which was achieved by Taishi Masuoka of Japan in 2017. He had been on the air for more than 88 hours and 8 seconds as of the most recent count.

"I have successfully smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest radio talk show, surpassing the previous record of 88 hours," Mighty George wrote on his X (previously Twitter) page to celebrate the milestone.

“This is not just my record this is a win for everyone who believes in the power of voice and perseverance.” The accomplishment has garnered national attention, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno visited the radio station to show his support. Mighty George’s unwavering effort continues to inspire many as he pushes toward his new goal of 100 hours on air, hoping to further inscribe his name in history.
